Using fresh cassava roots, Farm Uganda creates premium cassava flour. The roots are grown by young men and women in the 18–35 age range, of whom 70% are women and 30% are men, as well as by rural marginalised populations. By giving drought-resistant cassava varieties, teaching them basic agronomic methods, and connecting them to sustainable international markets, Farm Uganda also helps refugee groups become self-sufficient in food. This initiative not only empowers local communities economically but also promotes food security and self-reliance among vulnerable populations. Through sustainable farming practices and market access, Farm Uganda is making a positive impact on the lives of both farmers and refugees in the region.

Over 3000 smallholder farmers in the cassava value chain, four local cooperative organisations, and 141 producer associations are now involved in Farm Uganda's activity. As women entrepreneurs receiving training, the refugees represent the village and sell raw materials to Farm Uganda, earning commissions as agents. The youthful female and male workforce is engaged in several aspects of the value chain, such as cultivating cassava, moving the FCR to the Farm Uganda value addition facility, and handling processing, peeling, washing, drying, milling, and packing.
